The Heart of Our Grand Design Texas Fall Rally is in the Hill Country!
Old River Road RV Resort, our rally home, was hit hard by the recent Texas Hill Country floods. Five RVs were totaled, the water reached the third row of campsites, and even today it’s a base of operations for recovery crews. This isn’t just any park—it’s our park. And now … our GDTFR community is rallying to support those affected.

Where Is the Money Going?
When the floodwaters rose in the early hours of July 4th, it was the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department and other local VFDs who sprang into action. With no time to spare, they went door to door in the dark, waking up RVers and warning them to evacuate before it was too late.
Among those rescued were Grand Design owners Allen and Elizabeth Hester, who were staying at Old River Road RV Resort. Thanks to the heroic efforts of Center Point VFD, they—like so many others—got out safely.
Supporting the Heroes Who Saved Lives
But these heroes paid a steep price. Center Point VFD lost all of their equipment to the flood. And yet, even with their own station underwater, they stayed focused on saving others.
This fundraiser is our opportunity to give back—to help Center Point and other volunteer fire departments in the Hill Country recover and rebuild. Your donation will go directly to:
- Replacing critical emergency equipment lost in the floods
- Supporting the volunteer firefighters and their families during this difficult time
- Aiding other local VFDs who answered the call that night and saved countless lives
This is personal for us. We know the people who call that this area home!!! And, we believe it’s our turn, our privilege, to step up for those who stepped up for us.
Partnering with Our Hill Country Community to Make a Bigger Impact!
In addition to supporting the local volunteer fire departments and first responder organizations, we’re also partnering with trusted organizations and businesses right here in the Hill Country to help individuals and families in need. Through our rally partners—The Dietert Center, Stoeppel Ford, Crenwelge Motors, and others—we’ll ensure funds go directly to those affected by the floods. These partners are already on the ground, providing aid and resources where they’re needed most. Your donation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors.
